My presentation about FUTSAL
I'm going to teach you things about futsal, but only the level of general knowledge. First I saw a futsal match in 2003 and it was love at first sight.
So what's futsal?
Futsal is a form of football. It is played indoors in 4+1. The name comes from the spanish Fútbol Sala expression.
Basic rules
-There are 5 players in each team, 1 of them is the goalkeeper.
-Maxumum 7 substitutes can play, but the teams have unlimited substitutions during the match.
-2 referees and a timekeeper controll the game.
-The match consists of 2 equal periods of 20 minutes, but if the ball is out of the pitch, the time is stopped. Then the play is restarted with a kick-in.
-The length of a futsal pitch is between 38-42 meters and the width is between 18-25 meters. The penalty area is 6 meters, and the small penalty kick is done from 10 meters.
-The rules that controlled the goalkeepers' game have changed and they are complicated. Sometimes the teams cant use them fairly yet, because the rules were initiated this year. Now the teams and the referees have to follow the goalkeepers' game with more attention and utilize, use better the play with 5 midfield players.
-Sliding tackle is allowed from this year on, but if it endangers the health of a player, it will be punished.
-The number of fouls (irregularities, which are awarded with direct free kick) are noted and after the 5th irregularity in a half, the opponent team kicks a small penalty kick from 10 meters.
-Yellow and red cards are both used in futsal. If a player gets 2 yellow cards, he (or she) automatically gets a red card. Then the player has to leave the pitch and it's vicinity, and after 2 minutes the substitute player can come on. Not only a player can get cards, but anybody, who sits on the subs bench. It's not rare, that the coach is sent-off. Then the coach has to sit up on the grandstand.
-The futsal ball is heavier and faster. You need a special technique to kick it well.
The basics of futsal was made in Uruguay, in about 1930. But the first official world championship was only in 1989 and the top scorer, the goldballer was the Hungarian Zsadányi László. That was the only world-championship, when Hungary has been qualified. The team reached the 5th place. Hungary and Belgium were the first countries, where futsal was played in Europe. The frist official championship in Hungary was in 1991.
The ranking on the world is changing, but the top countries are Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Russia. Hungary is around the 20th place. It's interesting, that the national team of the United States is inactive, so they aren't on the list.
The champions league in futsal is the UEFA Futsal Cup. The best Hungarian result has been the 6th place.
Best players in the world in the latest years: Falcao, Javi Rodriguez, Shayakhmetov, Schumacher, Kike, Joel Queiros, Louis Amado.
Sometimes galamatches are organized, when the world representative team plays against a national team. Hungarian players are selected every year to play in the world's best team. The 2 latest selected players were Lódi Tamás and Balázs Zoltán.
Hungarian referees are also succesful. The best referee in the world in 2008 was the Hungarian Török Károly. Now, the younger Kovács Gábor is the best in Hungary. He was the referee at the European Championship Final in 2010. A referee is recognized, when he or she gets FIFA referee rank. There are very few women referees, who have got this title, but the Hungarian Perepatics Lilla is among them.
The Hungarian champion and cup winner is the Tába ETO FC Győr. There are no teams is Hungary that can defeated them. Internationally they haven't had prominent achievements, but the next chance is the UEFA Futsal Cup in 2011/2012, which begins in August. The UEFA Futsal Cup 2010/2011 ended on the 1st of May and surprisingly the Italian Montesilvano won, defeated the previous winner, the potuguese Benfica.
The present of futsal
I think futsal is fast, spectacular and enjoyable. It has a feeling. Futsal brings people together, you can make friends easily, not only among the fans, but among coaches, players, directors and media personalities.
Futsal is more widespread and betterknown nowadays in Hungary. Thanks partly to the European Championship in 2010 which was held in Hungary.
More and more foreign playerss, legionaires, coaches come to Hungary and the quality is increasing and also the number of professional players.
The Hungarian Football Federation produces young talents, the futsal coach and referee training.
The TV is showing futsal again, the Eurosport2 shows international matches, mainly the Spanish championship and the UEFA Futsal Cup and the Sport1 shows the Hungarian championship weekly.
My experiences
When I was a small child I was always going to my father's football matches. One day in ~2003 he take me to a futsal match. It was the final of the championship and I loved futsal at first sight. Next year I started to go to matches in Gödöllő. I became one of the biggest fans, I knew the players and directors, I was on every match. I celebrated 2 or 3 good years with them.
In 2006 the team played in the UEFA Futsal Cup and when they played against the ElPozo Murcia Turística I went up to the pitch with Joel Queiros at the beginning of the match.
In 2010 I became one of the biggest fans of the National Team of Hungary by the Nemzeti Sport newspaper. That year I met also Christian Lali Karembeu, who played in the big Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane, and we made a photo. And I made an interview with David Fric, Czech player, it's on the futsal-hungary.hu, which is the best known and recognized site about futsal in Hungary.
That site and the site of the Hungarian champion gace me the chance to write articles for them anytime.
In 2011 I won a futsal ball from the FtsalTV on Sport1 channel.
I have got to know many people and when I go to a futsal match, at least one of the photographers maked photos of me.
I'm also proud of my jerseys, which I have collected during these years.
My favourite player and coach also gave me their official jerseys, I have one from the National Team of Hungary, one from the UEFA Futsal Cup, a few fan-jerseys, baseball caps and scarfs and a full tracksuit from the Gödöllő-Bulls team.
In my room thee's a corner on the wall, where there are tickets, seasontickets, pictures, posters, playbills and a calendar.
